







The Taraba State Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning has organized a six-day training on the National Chart of Accounts template for the preparation of the 2026 budget.
The training, which took place at Kona Road, Jalingo, aimed at equipping all ministries, departments, and agencies in the state with modern technology for improved and transparent budgeting.
Participants at the training were directors of finance, directors of planning, research and statistics, account officers, and information and communication technology (ICT) officers of all MDAs in the state.
Declaring the programme open, the permanent secretary of the ministry Mr Saigudu Danjuma represented by the secretary of the ministry Mr Simon p. Emmanuel urged participants to make Judicious use of the knowledge acquired against this year’s Bilateral budget discussion coming up on the 15th of September 2025.
Commenting, the Head of monitoring and Evaluation Dr Paul moses applaud Dr Agbu Kefas for his support to the ministry. And the participants too for their cooperation and resilience.
The lead felicitator Mr Nata’ala Kaigama on his part led participants on how to plan and avoid unnecessary errors to achieve success in budget preparation.
He said the objective was to appreciate the basic features of National chart of accounts NCOA, knowing the structure and how it works to ensure accountability, Transparency and uniformity in budget preparation.
The participants also expressed their gratitude and satisfaction on the knowledge acquired and assured the ministry a better and more standard budget preparation 2026.
Mr Simon P. Emmanuel during the closing remarks appreciated the participants for their cooperation and emphasized that the ministry is looking forward to seeing the training translated into positive results come 2026 budget.
